Our Story

Why Que17?

Que17 Barbecue carries the name and memory of our son Bryce, who passed away at seventeen. Bryce was built different — he loved good food, real gatherings, and the kind of moments that only happen around a fire with friends and family.

Bryce understood something most people forget when life gets busy — that the best moments happen when you slow down, sit together, and share something worth eating. That’s why every time we’d bbq, his first instinct was to go around and share it with our neighbors.

That’s what a fire does. It creates a reason to gather.

It gives people something to stand around while the conversation finds its own way. By the time the food hits the table, the connection is already there.

We built Que17 around that belief. The science and the craft exist because the food deserves to be exceptional — but exceptional food is just the beginning. What it actually does is bring people face to face. In a world that makes it easier every day to stay disconnected, we think that matters.

Every pop-up, every whole hog we cook is a chance for someone to have a moment with friends and family they’ll remember and carry with them for a lifetime. We take that seriously.
